The Time Team official site

This Forum is now closed

Thanks for your posts over the last several years.

For the Time Team 1999 Live weekend Channel Four setup its first web forum. Back then access was snail like over dial up lines and things didn't improve when C4 added adverts across the top of the page. MJ, one of the regular posters, "reworked" the forum access page to remove the adverts and things continued like this for a while until C4 - in an attempt to deter all the trolls and timewasters - moved the forum on to a different system which required compulsory registration to post. At that point the first Unofficial Time Team Forum was set up to carry on the tradition of unregistered and lightly moderated posts that existed on the original, official forum. This worked well for a couple of years but then lack of user registration and moderation were being abused by a tiny minority to the annoyance and distress of others. Due to other commitments active moderation was not possible so the only choice was to close the forum.

In it's place we've created a "private" forum - F5- where membership is by peer approval and registration is mandatory. If you want to use the new forum please email your name and any nicknames you've previously used on any other archaeology or history related forum. Your details will be posted with your membership request. A minimum of two existing members will be asked to second your nomination and if successful, you will be sent the credentials to enable access. If access is granted - in no way guranteed - you must then register to post.

Failure to abide by the rules of F5 will mean your immediate expulsion, a lifetime ban and possible reporting to your ISP. If you've been granted access and cannot login please let us know as your ISP may be blocked.

As the popularity of Time Team has grown and C4 have experienced problems on their official forum, several more unofficial forums have appeared. Of course you're welcome to try these out and we recommend regular poster Co's at http://ourpasthistory.com/phpBB/, but the latest incarnation of the original unofficial TT forum, F5, will continue to provide a home here to its exclusive membership.
